We believe that businesses today need to be creative to be successful.
We believe that creative means being both agile and curious and adapting change, in order to be relevant.
We believe that it all comes down to people, and being a useful part of meaningful networks.

Creative Business is an event created especially for the UNESCO Creative Cities Network annual meeting i Östersund. This is a unique setting in which regional businesses, international guests and locals all have the chance to meet, learn and gain new perspectives, get to know new people and generate new business.

The event will strive to manifest the importance of implementing culture as a business tool, and as a collaborative agent, towards unifying people of all nationalities. We believe that culture provides a certain stickiness that brings people together in order to create successful businesses. Our goal for the day is to inspire and empower business leaders to use and cultivate creativity within their own companies.

Are you looking for inspiration and networking opportunities in an international setting?
Then go right ahead and sign up for an incredible day, full of charismatic speakers, interesting topics and loads of local culture and flavours.

You also have the opportunity to participate in the evening’s cultural bonanza crEATive östersund – a dinner party like no other. Please visit for more information about the evening.

Lisa Cockette

Lisa Cockette is British and has more than 20 years of business communications experience from international and local companies. She has lived and worked in England, Sweden, France, Thailand, USA and India. In 2012 she quit her job working as Director of Marketing and Communications for PwC in New York to re-find her creativity in the mountains and forests of Sweden.

That’s when she founded Anything English, an English language & communications consulting company, based in Östersund. Today Lisa helps clients do business better in English – whether they need to write, speak, present or even sing in English!  And she also runs Holy Grale, a small beer and wine importing company.

Lisa Lindström – Doberman
Lisa Lindström is the CEO of the design firm Doberman, with offices in Stockholm and New York. She has been appointed Sweden’s Service Innovator of the Year and listed as one of the top 10 female leaders. In addition to being chairman of the board of SVID, the Swedish Industrial Design Foundation and of Public Service broadcasting company Utbildningsradion, Lisa is also appointed as one of the four industrial advisors to the Swedish Government.

Sofie Lindblom – Spotify
In her role as Global Project Manager for Innovation at Spotify, she is passionate about creating systems to facilitate and harness innovation and creativity in organisations. Sofie was awarded as one of Sweden’s most powerful women in Business 2016 and one of the 101 Super Talents 2016 by swedish business magazine Veckans Affärer. She will talk about how Spotify uses tools and processes to move their product forward.

Sasja Beslik – Senior Executive Manager at Nordea Asset Management
Previously served as Global Head of Responsible Investments & Engagement at Banco/ABN AMRO and as a consultant for the World Bank on number of projects in Africa and Asia. In 2011 he was named as a Young Global Leader by World Economic Forum and in 2013 he was awarded Serafimer-order-stripe medal by H.R.H King Carl Gustaf of Sweden for extraordinary efforts in the field of finance and sustainability.

Fredrik ”FM” Marcus is usually referred to as the Willy Wonka of the digital age. He calls himself the world’s oldest web designer and has been in the business for over twenty years. As a Creative Director at Creuna, he gets to work with big clients and has been rewarded a bunch of prizes, and makes a point of never doing the same thing twice. Fredrik will talk about the importance of getting stuff done, what the future might hold and why creativity is so important.

JONAS HAGSTRÖM – Jämtlands Music School
Jonas is one of our local super talents. He grew up outside Östersund in a small mountain village, populated by 12 people. Jonas has spent the better part of two decades being a professional snowboarder, and five years ago he started two music schools together with his wife Rosmari. During 2015 they also founded the integration choir ”The Rockin’ Pots”, where refugees and native swedish people get to connect through music. The Rockin Pots has become a success story of national fame in just a few short months. Jonas will talk about his life as an entreprenuer, about The Rockin Pots and about the importance of doing more and thinking less.

Charles Landry –
Charles Landry is an international authority on the use of imagination and creativity in urban change. He invented the concept of the Creative City in the late 1980’s. Its focus is how cities can create the enabling conditions for people and organizations to think, plan and act with imagination to solve problems and develop opportunities. The notion has become a global movement and changed the way cities thought about their capabilities and resources.
Charles helps cities identify and make the most of their potential by triggering their inventiveness and thinking. His aim is to help cities become more resilient, self-sustaining and to punch above their weight.
